Replace Toilet Supply Line
Locate the shutoff valve for the water supply line.
Replace toilet supply line. Continue turning the valve until the water supply to your toilet stops flowing. Use a towel to soak up the rest of the water inside the tank so that it does not leak onto the floor when the supply line is removed. Take your wrench and loosen the hex nuts that connect the supply line to both.
Use the clean rag to wipe down the threads of each connector. Turn off the water to the toilet and flush it. Then do the same to the nut connecting to the toilet s fill valve. If you have gone through these steps and still have a leak you will need to buy a new line.
Place a small bucket behind the toilet where the supply line is to catch any water that may be stuck in the line. Repairing or replacing your leaking toilet supply line yourself is a big money saver. Turn the water supply valve to the right until it s finger tight then. Usually it is located directly beneath the tank of your toilet and close to the floor.
Use the adjustable wrench and unscrew the nuts on both ends of the supply line. Flush the toilet a few times to empty the water from the tank. Use a wrench to loosen the supply line nut connecting to the supply valve. Replace the toilet water supply line and check for leaks.
